Back in My Day

You were there. Prove it.

Nostalgia trivia for people who caught the '60s live. Pick a decade, pick a category, and answer ten questions. There is no timer, so you can sit with a question as long as you like.

Back in My Day poster on a cream background reading You were there. Prove it., with an iPhone showing a 1960s music question and four lettered answer options.

Ten questions, four options, one right answer

Every question gives you four choices, A to D. One is correct. One is wrong on purpose and quite funny about it, written by hand rather than picked at random.

Answer and you find out right away, along with a short "Did you know" fact about the question you just answered.

A round looks like this

The 1960s ยท Music ยท Q3 of 10

In 1964, four lads from Liverpool played The Ed Sullivan Show. How many Americans tuned in?

A 23 million
B 49 million
C 73 million
D All of them, basically

Option D is the joke answer. Every question has one. No clock. The '60s aren't going anywhere.

How it works

๐Ÿ“ป

Pick a decade

The 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, or 2000s. Start where your memory is sharpest, or go somewhere you only half remember.

๐ŸŽฌ

Pick a category

Music, Movies & TV, News & Events, Tech & Toys, Sports, or Everyday Life. Or take the mixed bag and get all of them from that decade.

โฑ๏ธ

No clock, ever

There is no timer anywhere in the game. As the app puts it: "No clock. The '60s aren't going anywhere."

๐Ÿ˜„

One silly wrong answer

Every question hides one deliberately daft option. It is never the right one, so it costs you nothing to enjoy it.

๐Ÿ“š

A fact after each answer

You get the result straight away plus a short "Did you know" note tied to that question. You leave a round knowing a bit more than you did.

๐ŸŽš๏ธ

Mixed difficulty

A round is roughly 3 easy, 4 medium, and 3 hard. Questions you have seen recently are held back until the pool runs dry.

No clock. Just vibes.

Most trivia games rush you. This one does the opposite. Nothing counts down, nothing expires, and nothing is worth more for being answered fast.

Take the question to the kitchen and think about it. It will still be there.

A lifeline when you need it

โœ‚๏ธ

50/50

Removes two of the wrong options and leaves you with a coin flip. One use per round.

Everything happens on your device. There is no multiplayer and no social feature in this app, and nothing you do is sent to anyone.

Keeping score

One point per answer

Ten questions, ten points on offer. No time bonus, because there is no time.

Streaks

Answers in a row are called out as you go ("3 in a row!"), and your daily play streak sits on the home screen.

Stats per decade

For every decade and category the app keeps your best score, how many rounds you played, and what share you got right.

Achievements

Kept on your device. There is one for a perfect round, one for playing every decade, and one for a 7-day streak.

A card to share

At the end of a round you get a result card you can share if you want to.

Nothing to sign up for

No accounts, no ads, no purchases, and no data collected. Everything stays on your device.

System requirements

iOS 17 or later on iPhone and iPad. English only for now. Every question ships inside the app, so nothing is ever downloaded and the game works the same with no internet connection.
