Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
The short version: Tally collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no in-app purchases, no third-party code, and the app never makes a network request. Your puzzle progress, streak, and settings are stored on your device and stay there.
Data We Collect
None. codfishworks does not collect, store, receive, or share any information about you or your device. Tally has no accounts and no sign-in, runs no analytics or telemetry, and shows no ads. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
Local Data Storage
Tally saves a small amount of data on your device using UserDefaults, the standard iOS store for app settings:
- Daily progress - which pairs you have cleared in today's puzzle, your time, mistakes, and nudges used
- Streak - your current daily streak and your best streak
- History - the days you finished, including perfect runs
- Settings - your language, appearance, and reminder preferences
This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any server run by codfishworks, and no one else can read it. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Network Access
Tally makes no network requests at all. The daily puzzle is generated on your device from the calendar date, which is why everyone gets the same puzzle without anything being downloaded. The app works exactly the same with no internet connection.
Third-Party Services
There are none. Tally contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics libraries, no advertising code, and no crash reporting. Everything it does is built on Apple's own system frameworks.
Permissions
Tally can ask for one permission: notifications. It only asks if you turn on the optional daily reminder yourself. The reminder is off by default, fires at 9:00 on your device, and is scheduled locally by iOS - no server is involved and no push notifications are ever sent to you. You can turn the reminder off in the app, or revoke notification permission in your device settings, at any time.
Tally does not ask for and cannot access your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location, health data, or files.
In-App Purchases and Ads
Tally has neither. There is nothing to buy inside the app and no advertising of any kind, so no payment or advertising data is ever handled.
Children's Privacy
Tally is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data at all, shows no ads, and has no purchases or chat, there is nothing for a child to share with us or with anyone else. The only links in the app are the two in Settings, which open this page and the support page in Safari.
Your Rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you. codfishworks holds no personal data about Tally users, so there is nothing for us to look up, correct, export, or delete. To remove the data on your device, delete the app.
